The Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum successfully moved Grasselli Tower to our museum grounds in North Judson in May of 2009 - but our fundraising efforts continue! Originally, the museum felt safe in budgeting $50,000 for the project, however the move ended up with a price tag of just over $55,000. Well worth it considering the amount of work that was necessary to haul the tower more than 65 miles from it's original home in East Chicago.
There has been a strong nationwide interest in preserving Grasselli Tower. Without the donations we received, Grasselli Tower could never have been saved! The museum and it's all-volunteer members offer a heart-felt "Thank You" to everyone who helped with this project. Without your monetary contributions, Grasselli Tower would have surely been torn down and lost to history!
Even though this railroad tower has been saved from the wrecking ball, we still need your donations to refurbish Grasselli Tower so that it can be enjoyed by everyone. The Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum has many things planned for Grasselli Tower and your tax deductible contributions will help us achieve our goals.
